When the Sandman comes to Santa's Workshop, the shop Jayne manages, to do his first ever book signing, it's a major event. He's kind of a supernatural celebrity and she needs to keep him happy.
All is well until trouble shows up at the party thrown in his honor. Trouble in the form of Luna Nyx, the Mistress of Nightmares and his creepy counterpart. The Sandman's assistant says Luna is dangerous, and Jayne believes it when her dreams turn dark.
Can Jayne keep the Sandman safe from this gothic goddess? Or will Luna's threats put them both to sleep for good?

This was a great book that really upped the stakes for Jayne. I love how she’s grown as a character and after the ending of this one am really looking forward to the next book.
A big plus in my opinion was that the love triangle was featured a lot less in this book. Either that or it was just written better into this story. One good thing is that both guys are starting to grow on me more and now I’m kind of worried that this means one of them will totally die or something.
The best part of this book had to be the introduction of a new rather scary type of monster and finding out a tad bit more about elementals. Saying that though I really really want to know more about this newish character’s story and much more about the elementals.
I loved how in control Jayne was here. You could tell she used her background more and was going to get things done.
The danger was elevated here and it really made the story fly by and then the end of the book shows that there will definitely be trouble ahead.

This is another great book added to the series. The Sandman comes to town for his book signing and it turns out to be a nightmare. The story is just as creative and wonderful as the previous ones and I loved every page. The characters are fantastic! They are beautifully described and dynamic. The setting is well thought out and of course it is perfect for all of the supernatural elements of the story. I love tbis series and can't get enough of it.
I loved this one as much as I loved the other books in this series! Frost is a great character to read and I love her cat as well! I love Nocturne Falls and love that this series is in that world. I can't get enough of reading about it! It is a nice change of pace in reading and plot. The love triangle is hard for me because I can't honestly say who I want her to end up with. Both guys are great characters and both adds so much to the story. I think that Frost is one of my favorite characters though and hope there are many releases in the future! Loved it!
Love all the Nocturne Falls books. Especially, the Jayne Frost series. They keep me thinking about how Jayne will handle each new problem she faces. Can't wait for a Christmas story. With everything going on in today's world, they offer me a brief time to unwind & recharge. As a "baby boomer," I remember when times where a little less hectic & in your face all of the time. Thank you for reminding me why I enjoyed reading as a teen-ager & young adult. Your descriptions are vivid & I can visualize how everything looks. Nocturne Falls reminds me of small towns in Northern Michigan & Hiawatha National Park in the U.P.
great 3rd book, the story was still good and brought the old characters back with a few new ones.. the big bad was kind of a surprise so that was good.. the 1 thing that is getting tiring is the cooper/greyson decision, just pick one PLEASE.. it's kinda annoying how she can't decide who she will be with.. this book didn't seem to have as much "dating" parts, but i think she should make a decision in the next book.. i hope we can see jack frost come for a visit, that would be cool.. the ideas the author comes up with to make this town seem real are amazing, keep up the good work!!
I always enjoy Kristen Painter's books. They are light hearted, humorous and uplifiting. The book does not drag along nor does it leave out important information. I read a lot and I enjoy reading her books because I consider them a light read. Not too involved but still interesting. When I say some violence, it is really not much at all. Just enough to save the day. When I say some sexual content, that is mostly just flirting and such. I await the next one!
I appreciate the methodical process through which Jayne solves the mystery. Only have two negative comments. Jayne too quickly jumps to the negative side when something goes wrong -- such as she's going to be fired because the Sandman goes missing. I mean really, she is a smart business woman, well liked by all. She is successful. The almost automatic jump to losing her job and returning to the NP is a bit much. The second comment is what I see as a disconnect -- after the 3 hour involuntary nap everyone takes Jayne and Cooper talk to Olive in Chapter 17. Yet when the fact comes out later that Olive and the Sandman were seen wallinhg through town, Jayne raises no question on the timing.
Another solid effort. Same idea as the rest Jayne solves mystery and manages the keep seeing both men. I was disappointed that there was no progress in the relationships.
