In this sequel to Honky Tonk Ethan and Hunter are in New York to see Ethan's parents who had thrown him out at 15 because of his promiscuous behavior. They like Hunter and are overjoyed when Hunter asks them for Ethan's hand in marriage but old habits die hard and Ethan comes away from his home feeling low like when he had first been told to leave. Things get worse at his old hang outs and soon all of the things Ethan had done to make himself feel like a good man are forgotten as he lets old feelings come back making him question himself and the love Hunter feels for him.
Reggie is living in New York going to school but something is missing from his life and one night when he goes with Hunter and Ethan to a BDSM club he finds out who that something is. Drew is tied and abused and he takes Reggie's heart with one look. Drew's Master just happens to be Ferguson Kenroy, Ethan's old lover, and Fergi wants Ethan back. When Ethan and Reggie snatch Drew away from him Fergi takes Ethan to compensate.
Cane is living in LA and longs for a Dom who can give him the love and strong hand he craves but instead meets Seth, a hit man in a mafia family who gives him so much more. When Hunter and Ethan go to LA to hide from Fergi they all learn that no one is what they seem and love runs deeper than pain.

Book 2 of the series is a good sequel ....Really interesting how the story develops and how trust between partners is something really important.
In this instance Ethan and Hunter had to learn all over the feelings of trust.
Cane is an essential part of the process , it is really good that Cane has found the confidence to start loving Seth , who by the way , is a deep character ... Without being a submissive and letting Seth see that eventually He can teach him how to be his Dom ....
Also Reggie goes out one night with Ethan and Hunter to a club , inside the same , He is confronted with disturbing scene. A sub is a humiliating condition and when trying to help him is confronted by the sub's Dom. Fergi , from Ethan's past , who by the way is obsses with Ethan.
When Reggie cannot accept that Drew , the sub , can't go with them ... He convinces Ethan of rescueing him from Fergi...
Plan executed ... Consequences to follow.
Drew has a past , but seems to be a good man.
Without telling lots .... Drew finds a real life hero in Reggie.
The book doesn't end with a cliffhanger but I have a feeling there is more to the story. One thing I have to say ... I like the way the author describes the feelings and deep expressions of the characters. Looking forward to more.

Hunter and Ethan I just love them as a couple, I loved book one and this book the author brings you in deeper into their relationship and family (I wanna slap Ethan's mother) and subs finding new Doms and Doms finding love. Hunter wears his heart on his sleeve for Ethan and Ethan feels babied some times, then he feels not worthy of Hunter's love, I thought the author nailed their relationship perfectly, their weaknesses and their ultimate love and understanding for each other. I love them together. I also love how Reggie takes control of his life and falls hard. Caine's part was great too but there's just something about the others that draws me in further. However Seth is a sexy as hell assassin. Love how the whole town (almost) rallies around Hunter and Ethan. Cannot wait for book 3. 5 huge stars review by Nanee at upallnightreadallday.blogspot.com
I love these books, these characters, and everything about this story. Book 2 is as good as book one and I am begging for more. Fantastic build up of story and characters. Amazing work.
No one can make you feel like this author! This is a wonderful continuation to an amazing series!! You will fall in love with them, fight with them, get angry with them and then the author will put you back together!!! The next one can't come soon enough!!!!
All the same characters, plus some more. All the love and romance that was in the first, and the sex is wonderful. This story is so well written, as all Rain's books are.
And in this second part of the story of Ethan and Hunter, suspense and drama make it even better. And the heartwarming aspect of the story will really pull the heart strings.
This story takes Honky Tonk I and really expands the characters that we know and love. And a few that we met in book I show us that they are stronger than we thought from the first book, or much worse than we thought.

This was a good continuation of the story from the first book. It focuses on three main stories - Reggie's search for a Sub, Cane's search for a full time Dom and a place to set down roots, and the developments between Hunter and Ethan. The stories do jump around a little, but it's nothing too jolting. The editing issues from the first book also continue into this book, with a sore lacking of commas and a few misappropriated words.
The relationship development between Ethan and Hunter is well done, with a few heart-pulling moments between them and Ethan's crazy ex-Dom showing up to stir the pot. There are trust issues they need to work through and mistakes made on both sides.
What I enjoyed most was the story of Reggie and Fergi. The love developed a bit too fast, but aside from that, the romance and their story was good. Cane's story was interesting with a bit of an unexpected twist for his new interest, Seth. Curious to see where it all goes from here.
